The double doors from the lounge lead onto a decking area with table and chairs for eating 'al fresco'. Sun loungers and a small barbecue are included.
For people who wish to come early spring or autumn there is a wood burning fire in the lounge for those cool evenings.
The mobile home benefits from its own secluded garden and off road parking.
Local Area
We are situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees and the location is ideal for those who want a quiet break or those interested in walking, horse riding, cycling and swimming. We have a pleasant river area 1 minute walk from the caravan, with plunge pool swimming and rocks, suitable for sun bathing. Two bikes are available on request. Wine tasting can be found in the locality - details are in the information pack provided.
Within a 15 minute car ride is the village of St.Hilaire where there is a supermarket, pharmacy, post office and a few other shops. Our own village of Greffeil has no shops, but a mobile bakery van comes to the village most mornings where fresh bread can be purchased. There is an Auberge run by the mayor who provides a variety of menu options, including vegetation (this is only available on telephone reservation service and the number is also in the information pack.)
The beautiful medieval city of Carcassonne and its airport is 30 minutes drive away, with flights to most parts of England and Ireland. Car hire is also available at the airport. You will also find the Hyper-Marches, restaurants, theatre, festivals, man-made beach with adventure playground and many other amenities, as would be expected in a world heritage city. The Canel du Midi runs through the city and tickets can be purchased for trips on the canal. It also runs through many other towns including Trebes and Homps where there are many cafes and restaurants for coffee or meals.
The town of Limoux is also a short drive away which is on the river Aude. The square has many cafes and restaurants for coffee, lunch and evening meals if desired.
Perpignan and the Spanish border is a 2 hour drive away, also the town of Narbonne with its interesting shops. Just a short drive are the beaches and pleasure parks, also within reach.
The Aude region is a very beautiful part of France and being the Cathar country has many old ruins and castles. With the vineyards and mountain ranges it has a lot to offer its visitors.
