Les Ollivaud is a situated on two sides of the road to St Andre about three hours drive from the port of St Malo and 8 hours from Calais. It contains a swimming pool, separate jacuzzi, small child's pool, a well equipped children's adventure play area, a bar and restaurant. The restaurant also has pleasant seating outside beside the swimming pool.
This is a predomainately French site and is open all year. Many residents live here all year - myself included.
Local Area
The site is situated in countryside about one mile from the pretty village of St Andre des Eaux, which contains traditional local shops. The Medieval fortified town of Guerande, which must have been built five hundred years ago, is about three miles away. Inside the walls of the town are many fine restaurants and bars catering for most tastes. There are also many specialists boutiques and tourists shops, all well worth seeing, and a street market twice a week. Open air entertainment is also sometimes available in the town.
Approximately two miles from the site is an excellent hypermarket that caters for your every holiday need especially fine food and wine from all regions of France .
The Briere national park is a short drive away and is well worth a visit.
Boat trips and horse and carriage rides are availible.
Batz is one of the many seaside villages well worth a visit along with Le Croisic, La Turballe and Piriac, all of which have good beaches.
Some two miles away is the sophisticated beach resort of La Baule with its many classy shops and every sort of beach activity anyone could wish for.
This beach is cleaned on a daily basis and is renowned for being one of the best in Europe. Because of the warming effect of the Gulf Stream, La Baule is known as the Rivera of the North and you could be forgiven for believing yourself on the Mediterranean coast and not the Atlantic. Also in the area there are great many smaller beaches and resorts all along this coast, well worth exploring. There are also first class golf courses at La Baule.
Horse riding and fishing facilities nearby and the local countryside includes the 'Briere' wetlands region which is a designated National Park. A visit to the Tourist office in St Andre will tell you of all the many attractions available in the area.
