Les Peupliers
Les Peupliers is a well appointed, 3* site situated mid way between St.Malo
and Rennes. It is set in 5 hectacres within the grounds of a 16th century
Manoir; a peaceful setting but with all the facilities of a modern holiday
location including a heated swimming pool, bar-restaurant, tennis, boules,
games area, 2 small fishing lakes, laundry and small shop.
Out & About
Tinteniac is a small town on the picturesque Rance Canal - 2 kms from Les
peupliers with several bars, supermarkets, shops and excellent
walking/cycling along the tow paths.
Nearby Combourg is an old, quaint towm with several good restaurants and the
chateau, famous for the writer Chateaubriand's stay there, which is open to
the public and well worth a visit.
Within an hour's drive from Les Peupliers is the city of Rennes, the towns
of Les Fougeres, Dinan, Dinard, St.Malo and the famous Le Mont St.Michael,
all worthy of visiting. There are beautiful beaches around Dinard and Le
Mont St,Michael and boat trips to the small islands run from here. Dinan
(one of our favourites and only half an hour's drive away) is an ancient,
unspolit town with cobbled, winding streets and the old port down below has
wonderful seafood restaurants.
The Normandy beaches, including Omar, Utah and the war cemeteries, are well
within a day's trip.
Travelling from the UK couldn't be easier, the ferry port of St Malo is just
40 kms away from the site. Cherbourg and Caen are both less than 2 hours.
The nearest airport is Rennes with car hire available. Travelling from or to
the Channel Islands is only a short ferry trip.
