In the garden store are cycles of various sizes from children's to adult, along with beach equipment, tennis racquets, table tennis bats etc., for those who wish to be more active.

Les Charmettes

Les Charmettes is 3 miles from the market town of La Palmyre, with its famous zoo and sea lagoon filled with water sports activities, with the beaches of La Grand Cote and Cote Sauvage spreading from it. There are cycle tracks from the park through the pine forests to the various beaches.

Les Charmettes has extensive sporting facilities and a fantastic swimming complex, as well as bar, restaurant and shop. Children are catered for by specialist activity clubs for various age groups, and entertainment for all is provided in the concert room and the adjacent piazza for outside entertainment.

At Les Charmettes you can be as relaxed and quiet as you want to be, or as busy as your children want you to be.

Locally

Culturally diverse, the region owes its living to the sea and agriculture, after tourism. There are places of interest at La Rochelle, Rochefort, Saintes, Cognac and Bordeaux to name a few.

The isles d'Oleron, d'Aix, and d'Or provide lots of opportunities for exploration and the river Seudre has a massive inland waterfront with numerous inlets and old quays and villages.

Gastronimically, the area specializes in sea-food, which is excellent in the local restaurants; there are other local dishes also worth trying.
