There are numerous country walks from the site where you are likely to see a profusion of birdlife. It is fully equipped and used by our family as a holiday home.
Camping Moulin de Mandassagne
Camping Moulin de Mandassagne is deep in the countryside of Lot et Garonne, half an hour east of Bergerac between the historic and beautiful bastide towns of Villereal and Monpazier. The fantastic chateaux of the Dordogne are all within easy reach, as are the Bordeaux vineyards and the stunning gorges of the Aveyron and Lot.
The climate is typical of the Lot/Dordogne region, usually very warm in the summer months.
Amenities on site include a friendly bar, restaurant, take away, pool, tennis courts and boulangerie (bread is baked on site).
Moulin de Mandassagne is a small, 3 star, family run site with only a handful of mobile homes. It would not appeal to anyone looking for a large development with organised entertainment and activities.
What it does offer is an utterly authentic, deeply rustic French experience; farmers
markets, sleepy medieval towns, a pace of life unchanged in centuries. The
owner speaks fluent English.
It can be found at the hamlet of Parranquet, Lot et Garonne, half an hour east of Bergerac, between the Bastide towns of Villereal and Monpazier.
Within an easy drive there is horse riding, golf, freshwater fishing, canoeing, bicycle hire and boat trips.
You have the choice of travelling by boat from Dover or Portsmouth and enjoying the drive through France, or flying to Bergerac, Limoges or Bordeaux and hiring a car.
