The kitchen is fitted with a 4 plate hob, fridge and microwave. The dining area has an "L" shaped settee with cushions, and a table with 4 chairs. There is plenty of cupboard and shelving space available with a large floor standing swivel fan, radio, cards and a folder of animation and useful information for your holiday enjoyment.
Please note all power points are of the French type, although a UK adaptor is provided for the fan.
Patio doors lead out on to the veranda were patio furniture, consisting of table, 6 chairs, small round drinks table, and a gas BBQ will be found.
Stairs at the rear of the veranda lead down to a small secluded area with sun loungers. The inventory includes 2 parasols for use on the veranda, freestanding clothes drier, lounger and beach mats together with and a selection of children’s beach toys and surfboards.
We do not employ cleaners to clean and tidy up the mobile home, as we trust our clients to leave the unit as clean and tidy, as they would expect to find it on their arrival.
Bookings in high season are generally Saturday to Saturday, but at other times of the year we like to offer flexibility when possible.
A full inventory is available with the booking details.
Camping Le Dattier
Whilst Le Dattier is not a large site by French standards it is a picturesque and friendly 4 star site ideally located in natural surroundings on the outskirts of Frejus. Within easy reach are long well kept sandy beaches, secluded bays, fascinating ports, famous coastal resorts and the beautiful hinterland of Provence with its old villages and ancient traditions.
The trees, foliage and plants are a feature of the site and offer a welcome degree of shade in the hot weather together with a varying array of colour during the year.
Facilities
There are 2 swimming pools on site, one with a baby pool. In the main season both will be open but at other times it varies depending on how full the site is. However, there is always at least one pool open for the whole season.
Also on site is a bar/restaurant, tennis court and boules area, table tennis and children's play area with Donkey enclosure, laundry facilities and Reception office where English is spoken.
There is a bus stop a few metres outside the site entrance.
Shopping
A Leader Price supermarket, about 100m from the site entrance, is open between 8am and 8pm every day apart from Sundays and Bank Holidays (these times are subject to change so please check).
About 1 mile away there is a small supermarket “Proxi” which is open almost all the time, and a very good Boulangerie that is also open on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
There are four other supermarkets within 3 miles of the site: Carrefour on the road to Pugens; Geant on the road to St Tropez; Intermarche (closest) on the road to Frejus old town and Casino also on the road to Frejus old town – just pass Intermache.
The Carrefour and Geant are by far the biggest and in our opinion the best.
Location of these supermarkets and other areas of interest are marked up on the photocopy maps of Frejus left in the mobile home for your use.
Markets take place almost every day within Frejus or close by. Reception will be able to give you more detailed information.
Local Attractions
The local attractions are too numerous to list out and vary during the season but the reception office has a good selection of animation.
Selected Excursions
A few of our favourite excursions from Le Dattier are:
Beach at St Aygulf - A long and sandy beach with great swimming. Follow signs to St Tropez, about 2 miles past Geant. It is a pay car park for half or full day (June to Sept).
St Tropez by boat from St. Raphael - The road to St Tropez is very scenic but always busy and at a standstill during the high season. If you book up early enough the return boat trip to St Tropez is less stressful. Details and prices can be obtained from reception.
Scenic Drive to Cannes - Drive around the coast road to Cannes and back via the 'N' road or motorway through the Esterel. If you go this way you are on the right side of the road to pull in for the magnificent views of the Mediterranean. Tip: Avoid weekends in high season.
The Hills of Provence - Turn right out of Le Dattier and drive into the hills, stopping at the wonderful villages to experience the culture and peacefulness of these unspoilt retreats. There are many circuits possible and only you can decide the most suitable but the following villages are we believe well worth a visit; Cotignac, Villecroze, les Arcs, Callas, Mons, and Montauroux to name a few.
Verdon Gorges & Lac de Ste Croix - Considered by many to be the unofficial eigth wonder of the world and if you only do one day-trip inland this should be top of the list.
The scenery is spectacular and we believe best appreciated by taking a clockwise circuit around the gorge.
Monaco and Monte Carlo - We would suggest you go via the motorway and return from Monaco to Nice by one of the three Corniche roads. The highest one is considered the best. Absolutely breathtaking especially early evening as the sun goes down. Pick up the motorway at Nice for the remainder of the return journey.
St Raphael to Frejus by foot - Drive to the marina east of St Raphael centre (parking usually free) and walk along the front all the way to Frejus Marina and back. About 6 miles but the only way to take it all in.
There are many more excursions, walks and places we could mention but the above should wet your appetite for this lovely part of the world.
Travelling to Frejus
Easyjet, BA and Ryanair all fly from the UK to Nice where hire cars are available. It is about 45 minutes by road to Le Dattier. Train and coach connections are also available between Nice and Frejus.
Personal Note
We drive down from the Norfolkline ferry terminal at Dunkerque. If you drive straight down it will take about 13 to 14 hours including stops and using the autoroutes (tolls about £60 each way).
We break our journey with an overnight stop north of Lyon (Premier Class hotel about £35 a night for two including breakfast) and arrive around 3pm on the second day.
Please Note
A tourist tax of approximately 0.55 Euros per day per person is payable to the site and is not included in our prices
