Camping Le Dattier
Le Dattier is a small family run site with approximately 180 pitches. The owner, Mr Chaix, is a well known and well liked member of the Frejus community. He has a passion for growing date palms and many of these adorn the site. Mr Chaix also loves animals and his Provencal donkeys are kept on site as breeding mares. The foals are wonderful!
Unlike many commercial sites Le Dattier has retained true French traditions and contains a wealth of nature, especially in its bird life. In high season teenagers can enjoy some night life but either side of the peak times young families and couples will really enjoy the quality time offered by this wonderful oasis of nature. Out of the high season the bar is open subject to demand on the site.
In the area there are a wealth of eating places and bars, especially in Port Frejus and St Rapheal. Taxis are not too expensive.
On site there are two big swimming pools with sunbeds, both allow for the young (and not so young) non swimmer s to enjoy the water in shallow depths.
A games room is near the bar and a small children’s play area and a tennis court are at the bottom of the site.
Supermarket facilities are opposite the site entrance. The local supermarket is not open on Sundays but the hypermarkets are in high season.
Reception staff speak English very well.
Locally
The local area is full of great places to visit including some of the best beaches in France. If you enjoy water sports, there is every kind of craft available inland and at sea. Kite sailing is permitted on certain beaches.
Frejus offers you the holiday you want to have. We strongly recommend your own transport to really get the most from the area.
We keep all guides to the area in our holiday home.
