One mobile home is made to use a wheelchair and has a large bathroom and bedroom, both with sliding doors for easy entry and exit. It also has a low fitted exterior ramp for easy entry using a wheelchair. One of our familly members is a permanent wheelchair user and has had many holidays in it.

Camping le Marina

Camping le Marina is a 2/3 star site (3star applied for this year) on the edge of Bretignolles sur Mar, just 10 minutes walk from beautiful uncrowded and unspoilt beaches, or a few minutes to the old village with its bars and restaurants.

The camp site itself is exceptionally clean, with mature trees and shrubs, and is generally recognised as one of the best in the area!

It has a new swimming pool, built in 2003/4, with all the usual amenities. There are play areas for young chidren and toddlers, and is a very safe holiday campsite for them (no bar for alcholic drinks). It is a quiet site with most mobile homes owned by French famillies, with about 10% owned by Brits.

Local Area

The immediate area has good places of interest from the old fishing port of St Gilles-croix-de Vie with its many restaurants, bars, shops and casino, to the ancient seaside town of Le Sable D'Lorne with its vast beach and promenade lined with restaurants, bars and shops. Or you may want to visit the zoo or aquarium or the classic motor museum at Talmont.

All in all it is almost impossible to list the many many places to visit and all within about an hours drive, but if you want to just sit in the sun remember that this part of France has almost the same hours of sunshine as St Tropez in the very south.
