The mobile home is located in Maché in the Vendee (Pay DeLa Loire) just 4 kilometres from Apremont with its medieval castle. In the opposite direction is a town called Aizenay, which has a good range of shops and restaurants as well as a fair priced garage for servicing and repairs, plus a huge hypermarket on the edge of town.
When you book with us you will have no problems as my wife and I live in Aizenay, not far
from the holiday park. My wife is French/English speaking, so we will try and keep your
stay with us as stress free as possible. We are only a phone call away!
La Residence Du Lac
On site facilities include a heated swimming pool, children’s play area, bar function room, barbecue facilities, children’s entertainment, laundry facilities, and live entertainment.
You can also hire canoes and bicycles on site at very reasonable rates.
Locally
La Residence du Lac is just 5 minutes walk to a 9 acre lake, so if you are a keen fisherman you are coming to the right place. There is bream, perch, chub, pike etc.
The village of Mache is just 5 minutes walk away. It has one bar with a pool table, computer games, dartboard and Sky TV. It is also child friendly. There is another bar/tabac where you can obtain fishing licences, by the day or week onwards; you will need your passport and extra photograph for your licence. The patron also sells a small amount of fishing tackle. The licence allows you to fish anywhere in the Vendee, other than private areas.
Also in the village is a hairdressers, male and female, and the patron is trying hard to learn English. Additionally there is a mini market, a boulangerie, church, garage and internet café, which opens from 3pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday, also child friendly. There is also a mobile pizzeria, which calls every Friday for a few hours.
The village of Apremont is only a 5 minute drive from the holiday home, which has two bars, one a bar/restaurant. It also has a Spar mini market that also has a cash dispenser (most cards accepted), and a boulangerie; if you are not on a diet they have cakes of every description. In fact, it’s a kids paradise. Running through the village is the river itself, which is fed from the lake in Mache. It has a small man made sandy area for the kids and you can also hire boats and water bikes. Apremont also has a bar/restaurant, mini golf, picnic areas and a car boot sale every month in the summer, which is very popular. In fact, it has most things, except a McDonalds which is in St Gilles Croix de Vie, about 20 minutes drive depending on traffic. Plus it has everything a seaside town has, except a fish and chip shop (not yet anyway). It is well worth a visit just to keep the kids happy. There is also a 18 hole golf course.
In fact, there is so much to see and do in the Vendee it would take hours to explain to you. I’ve lived here for 2 years and not seen most of it.
