The bathroom has a toilet, wash basin and shower, although just a short walk away there are large site showers, which can be used by everyone.

Outside we have a wonderful view looking over the Maures Massif Mountains, a patio area with a large gazebo where lunch/dinner can be enjoyed away from the heat. The gazebo and garden has lighting for those warm balmy evenings to enjoy a relaxing glass or two of local wine. We also have a garden with a raised area on which there is a garden bench to enjoy an even better view - an ideal place to sit in peace and plan the day, or read.

There is also an outside cooking area with a gas barbeque for 'al fresco' eating so that "everyone" can enjoy the wonderful weather.

Parc Saint James

Parc Saint James is in a beautiful location set in grounds covering 31 hectares, and planted with century old cork oak trees and stone pines.

It sits on a hill overlooking the Golfe de St Tropez just below the lovely small village of Gassin. There is a small footpath from the site to this pretty village, which is a must as the views over the Golfe de St Tropez and the surrounding area are breathtaking. There are also some really good restaurants; one in particular serves a very good lunchtime crab salad. This walk, in parts, is quite a climb so not for the faint hearted.

The amenities on Parc Saint James include a restaurant and bar, as well as a mini market which sells bread, milk etc. There is a huge supermarket just about a mile along the road for your main shopping.

Also on site is a large supervised swimming pool and a small children's pool with plenty of sun loungers to use, a full sized tennis court, crazy golf, a children's play area, basketball court, a gym and of course a boules court. Discos are also held, but mainly in the high season.

Please Note: €9 a day for the family is payable on arrival, direct to site management. Plus 50.5 centimes a day for each person over 10 years (Taxe de Sejour).

Surrounding Area

With so many unspoilt villages to explore including Gassin, Ramatuelle, Grimaud, Coqolin, Port Grimaud and St Tropez, the things to do and places to go are endless.

St Tropez is a must. A beautiful old town where the rich and famous moor their yachts and show the other half how to live! It has a wonderful market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

Port Grimaud is similar to a small Venice (without gondolas) and a pleasant evening can be spent walking around the canals.

St Maxine and St Raphael are busy small towns with extensive marinas.

Going the other way Cavalaire (with a good sandy beach and lovely ice cream) to Le Lavandou, you will pass many small beachy villages along the way.

If you feel like driving a few miles inland a visit to Colobriare, home of the chestnuts, is well worth a visit.

Beaches

Parc Staint James is less than a ten minute drive to the most beautiful sandy beaches. If you turn left at the camp gate you pass La Croix which also has a nice beach, Dubarqment. This is a large sandy beach with a gentle slope suitable for young children. Between this and Cavalaire there are long stretches of beach with free parking areas. To the right of the gates there are sandy beaches all along the roadside to St Maxine and beyond, again with parking.

If you turn right at the gates and take the first small right turning it will take you to Ramatuelle, which will lead to the famous Pampelonne beaches. There are endless small coves to be explored all along the magnificent Mediterranean coastline.

How to get to us

There are several ways to travel. Toulon airport is the nearest at about 30 miles. Nice is approximately 50 miles. If you fly from Stansted Ryan Air go to Toulon while Easy Jet fly to Nice. You would then need to hire a car.

Alternatively there is the ferry crossing and the tunnel at Dover or the ferry crossing at Portsmouth should you wish to drive and head south for the Auto Route du Sud.

Payment is 25% deposit on booking with balance payable 4 weeks before arrival.
