Outside it has a back terrace with pergola, a perfect afternoon shady area.
You enter the villa from this area, and go down steps to the main door and front terrace and pool, from where you have the gorgeous sea views. In this area is your outdoor dining space with locally built barbecue where you can sit under the stars with just the sea lapping down below.
The open plan living and kitchen area is beautifully tiled in soft cream local stone. The kitchen has a gas hob and electric oven, a huge fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a microwave, toaster and kettle.
The three double bedrooms have king sized beds with very comfortable mattresses. They also have a pretty marble table and two chairs where you can sit with a glass of vino and watch the sea in peace! The penthouse double has a large roof terrace, and a spa bath.
Kalkan
There is so much to do in and around Kalkan. Every day from the harbour the pretty gullets sail off for day trips around the bay; for as little as £12 you can enjoy a day of sailing, swimming and snorkelling with lunch and tea included. Quite idyllic! We have done this many times and cannot recommend it highly enough.
For those of you interested in history the entire area is strewn with amazing archealogical sites, Patara, Xanthos, Letoon and Tlos to name a few.
These are well worth a visit boasting ruins and amazingly well preserved amphtheatres, with the odd goats thrown in for good measure! You can reach these sites quite easily, by your own car, dolmus (bus) or on one of the many tours organized by operators in Kalkan.
On Thursdays there is the local market which is a must for fresh fruit and vegetables, not to mention bartering for clothing and other goods! Don't offer the first price asked!
You can go for a Turkish bath, have a massage, or if you are male a shave is a wonderful experience by the local barber who will cossett and pamper you and give you a head and shoulder massage as well.
Kalkan has a small pebbly beach and most people swim from the various beach clubs.
Patara has an amazing 15 kilometer long sandy beach, which opens up from spectacular ruins of an old city & harbour. There is also a country park.
Patara is about 6 miles fom Kalkan and can be reached by bus or car.
