An added attraction is the horse bus which goes past taking visitors from the car park into the village.
Polperro is an historic fishing village and is extremely picturesque with little stone cottages spilling over into the harbour and up the sides of the valley. Roads are narrow hence the restriction on cars.
The National Trust coastal path runs through Polperro. From the harbour there are boats to Looe and Fowey. Beaches and other water sports are situated in Looe (10 minutes by car). There is also a museum in Polperro and a miniature village.
The village is not short of eating places; 5 pubs and numerous restaurants and cafes, two grocery stores, a post office, souvenir and dress shops, also a delicious candy store.
Polperro is a good base from which to visit attractions, of which there are many, but to name a few: The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, many National Trust historic houses and gardens.
