Up the spiral staircase to the first floor you will find a spacious Master bedroom with king
size bed, as well as a double bedroom. Each of the rooms has an en-suite and balcony to take
in the wonderful views of Kalkan, Kalamar Bay and the sea.
On the top floor are a further 2 single bedrooms with a shared shower room and WC. Each has
its own private balcony. All bedrooms have mosquito nets.
Outside there are pool terraces and an outdoor cabana/BBQ eating area seating 8. The pool is
approximately 16ft wide, 14ft long and 5ft deep. There is no shallow end so small children
need to be supervised at all times. We supply comfortable sun loungers and parasols on the
terraces around the pool. The cabana is set in the small garden and has seating for 8. Subtle
lighting or candles if you prefer, add to the ambience for idyllic dining.

Local Area
It is only a short walk down hill to the old village of Kalkan where you will find a discerning
mix of Europeans and Istanbul Turks attracted by Kalkan's reputation within Turkey.
Kalkan has long been considered the prettiest of the small coastal towns along Turkey's Lycian
turquoise Mediterranean coast, nestling in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains in the heart
of the old Lycian region. With its maze of cobbled streets, white washed houses and flowered
covered alleyways, Kalkan has the charm of a tranquil fishing village where the simple houses
have been lovingly restored, under strict conservation laws, to create the sophisticated
atmosphere of an up-market resort.
The town is full of enchanting shops which stay open until midnight, a lively harbour, cafes
and rooftop restaurants to excite the discerning diner, jazz bars and a very smart marina
where beautiful 'gulets', the traditional wood built fishing boats, moor after day trips or
stunning full week cruises.
There is only a pebble man made beach in Kalkan but there are plenty of 'Beach Clubs' which
are open to non-members. They offer sunbeds, swimming, water sports, restaurant and bar
facilities.
There are 2 sandy beaches in the immediate vicinity of Kalkan, Kaputas being the first is only a
6km drive east. It can be found at the bottom of a ravine, down approximately 100 steps but
with the most beautiful turquoise sea. Patara is the second, part of a National Park and a 19km
drive to the west. It was voted one of the world's best beaches by The Times readers, with 22kms
of pure white sand which stretches as far as the eye can see, making it ideal for a day away
from the holiday crowds.
Patara is also an ancient site with numerous interesting ruins. Historically it is known as the
birthplace of St Nicholas (Father Christmas) and according to mythology Apollo was also born
here.
Travelling further afield, and all easily accessible from Kalkan along Turkey's Lycian coast,
there are the ancient sites of Xanthos, (Kinik) the Lycian capital and the single most
important city 18kms north of Patara, Letoon 6kms further on, Tlos, Lycia's longest
inhabited city and many others.
Saklikent, a narrow gorge about 300m high and 18km long,
is accessed by a suspended wooden catwalk. Once you have crossed through the ice cold water
you can begin the journey uphill into the gorge. After an epic journey there is an abundance
of restaurants serving freshly cooked trout from local hatcheries and local delicacies to
choose from for lunch.
So whether your interest is cultural, historical or just relaxing then Kalkan has everything to
make you want to return time and time again.
A Welcome Pack awaits you upon arrival and we supply a daily maid service for light cleaning.
Twice weekly there is a full villa clean and linen change is done. There is a mobile 'Pay as
You Go' phone in the villa with a local Turkish SIM card for ordering taxis or making
restaurant reservations. An English speaking agent is available for help and advice.
Because of the elevated position of our house and the spiral staircase it is not ideal for the
elderly or infirmed.
Transfers can be arranged along with car hire.
